Residents at Lent Rise House recently organised a heartwarming gesture to express their gratitude to the local Slough Fire Service during the festive season. Embracing the spirit of Christmas, they extended a warm invitation to the fire service to join their monthly Communi-tea event on the 20th of December.

The residents, showcasing their creativity and holiday spirit, presented their handmade “Hugs in a Mug” – cones filled with hot chocolate, marshmallows, and chocolate chips transformed into adorable reindeer.

The Red Watch team from the fire service attended the event, enjoying tea, coffee, and cakes while engaging in meaningful conversations with each resident. The highlight of the day, however, was an exclusive tour of the fire truck and its equipment, providing the residents with a firsthand look at the workings of their local heroes.

Residents Lucy and Pat took centre stage as they presented the members of the Red Watch team with the special gifts they had created. The thoughtful gesture was met with genuine appreciation, and the entire team expressed their delight at receiving such heartwarming Christmas presents from the Lent Rise House community.

Resident Lucy said, “Thank you for coming to see us, it has been lovely talking to you all and being able to give something back to you”.

In response, the Red Watch team said, “Thank you so much for inviting us along today, and thank you for the handmade gifts. It’s really kind of you all”.
