Founded in 1992, The Fremantle Trust is a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation providing care and support services that enhance the quality of life of over 1,100 older people and adults with learning disabilities.
As part of The Orders of St John Care Trust Group, we are one the UK’s leading not-for-profit care providers, in total employing over 5,700 colleagues, managing over 500 volunteers and supporting more than 3,700 people.
We are committed to supporting individuals to ensure they are listened to, valued and respected at all times, with kindness and compassion and we work in close partnership with individuals, families and carers to ensure changing care needs are met.
Over 1,300 dedicated and highly skilled Fremantle colleagues are committed to helping people live life to the full. We fully support our people and are committed to continuous learning so we can continue to lead the way in our field.
Our services include care homes, extra care, residential and supported living schemes. We are passionate about putting the person at the heart of all we do to ensure they receive the highest possible standards of care and support, when they need it most. This is what makes The Fremantle Trust the special place it is today.
The benefits of being a not-for-profit organisation
The Fremantle Trust is a not-for-profit care provider and a registered charity supporting older people and adults with learning disabilities. This means that our commitment is to the provision of outstanding care and support to vulnerable people, rather than to private profit. This allows us to ensure that our integrity and values are central to everything we do.
We rely on the generosity of our donors and those who kindly leave legacies in their will, and we make sure that every penny is used to make a real difference in people’s lives. As an organisation with charitable status, we have no shareholders and we don’t have to pay out dividends, so we are able to invest all of our funds into ensuring that our services are of the highest standard and the wellbeing of the people we care for is protected and enhanced.
Our staff are enormously dedicated and committed to ensuring that the people they care for have the best possible quality of life. The enthusiasm and kindness of our wonderful volunteers is also a huge asset. Being a not-for-profit organisation, we don’t operate like a business, and instead measure our performance based on the outcomes we achieve for the people we care for.
Our work seeks to enhance the lives of older people, including those with dementia, and people with learning disabilities, and more than 1,100 individuals benefit from our facilities and services. While many care providers across the UK operate as for-profit businesses, as a charity we stand out from the crowd. At the Fremantle Trust, we never cut corners, and every individual is cared for considerately and holistically in a welcoming environment.
