As a specialist residential home, Farnham Common House care home has a variety of high-quality facilities which provide excellent support for older people and those living with dementia, in a safe and welcoming environment.
En-suite rooms
Each fully furnished individual room is modern, comfortable and has been designed with an older person in mind. Every room also has a lovely en-suite and is wheelchair accessible. A 24-hour carer call system is provided, along with a phone and TV points. We encourage residents to bring their own furnishings from home to add that 'personal touch' to their new room.
Welcoming communal areas
Spacious communal areas are located in each wing, including an inviting lounge, dining room and kitchenette. These are the perfect spaces for catching up with friends and family. A large social room plays host to the varied activity calendar we offer that includes arts and crafts, board games and a book club. Quiet seating areas are located throughout the home as well as a computer room. Stairs and a lift provide easy access to all of our floors.
Fresh food daily
Food is an enjoyable part of life and at Farnham Common House, all meals are freshly cooked on-site using local produce when possible. We offer a wide choice of meals and welcome suggestions from residents when menu planning to ensure we cater to everyone’s tastes and dietary needs. For a minimal charge, visitors are welcome to join us at mealtimes, or they can use the kitchenettes as they would at home.
Arched garden pathway and raised beds
Our residents enjoy walking along the garden pathway with its attractive archways, participating in alfresco activities, as well as enjoying barbecues and parties in the warmer months. Residents can also get down to some light gardening in our safe and relaxing outdoor space. Our gardens are complete with raised flower beds that provide an ideal opportunity for green-fingered individuals to get involved with planting and ‘sprucing up’ at a comfortable height.
Access to specialist services
We are dedicated to delivering high-quality specialist care for older people. As well as providing a personal key worker and support plan for each individual, which is reviewed regularly, we work in partnership with other local healthcare professionals. This includes opticians, chiropodists, physiotherapists, district nurses, GPs and dieticians. We also hold regular religious services inside our care home.
Pet friendly
As a nation of animal-lovers, we know that the positive effects of caring for a pet can be both rewarding and beneficial for an older person. We will do everything we can to support residents to ensure they can continue to care for their pets and enjoy the continued companionship of their furry friends.
Hairdressing
Having your hair done is one of life's luxuries. Our on-site salon is run by qualified hairdressers and is available to provide a range of styling options for both male and female residents – perfect for when a touch of pampering is just what the doctor ordered.
