Members of the team from Stoke Mandeville’s Fremantle Court nursing home gathered with Bucks-based Construction Specialties to officially cut the ribbon of a transformed garden room at the home.
Keen to give back to the local community, a group of volunteers from Construction Specialties (CS) visited the home in March to bring a splash of colour to tired outdoor furniture. They enjoyed meeting residents and rejuvenating the outdoor area so much that they returned to develop a stunning feature wall in the garden room, which is a quiet space for reflection overlooking the courtyard.
The result is a beautiful Acrovyn By Design® Bespoke Wall Covering featuring a white garden fence, pink roses and lavender, which is reminiscent of summer blooms and nature walks. The image is embedded with CS’ high spec, impact resistant Acrovyn sheet to prevent damage and ensure durability and ease of cleaning.
CS also supplied 15 litres of Wallsheen. a durable wall and ceiling coating helping to further rejuvenate and brighten the garden room, while offering anti-microbial properties and superior performance compared to standard emulsion paints.
Residents, families and employees at Fremantle Court were all astounded by the new-look garden room and particularly enjoyed being part of the process, working with CS to select the image and colour for the room.
Commenting on this, Sue Faulkner, community and lifestyle manager at The Fremantle Trust, said:
It’s so important for residents to remain an active part of the local community and for us to develop strong links with businesses on our doorstep.
We have been overwhelmed by the generosity and goodwill from volunteers at Construction Specialties. Residents are looking forward to spending quality time in the garden room, as it’s such a bright, welcoming space.
Ken Hart, Vice President of Construction Specialties UK, said:
We thoroughly enjoyed the experience of volunteering at Fremantle Court. It’s really important to us as a business to invest time in supporting local organisations and to give back.
It was great to see the smiles on everyone’s faces today and we hope the transformed space continues to bring lots of joy to residents and their families.
