I am writing to keep you updated with how The Fremantle Trust is continuing to manage the Covid-19 situation.  We learned a lot about the virus during the first wave, and are prepared for a second wave should it occur.

Whilst rates of Covid-19 are increasing in Buckinghamshire, I’m pleased to say that our homes and services remain safe and predominantly Covid-free. Our policy remains the same - we do not take new people who are testing positive for Covid-19 into our homes and services.

We have a large supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) and test kits. We are testing our residents and employees regularly, and our infection control measures have been heightened.  We have recruited an infection control specialist who is assisting us with training and with ensuring the highest possible standards in our homes and services. We have set up visitor rooms in our care homes and ways to visit safely in our learning disability services. We have increased cleaning everywhere.

As we head into a month-long lockdown our focus remains on the health and wellbeing of our residents and service users. We are keen to continue facilitating safe indoor visits during this period. We propose to allow 1 visit per fortnight, by only one person, for up to 30 minutes. This will need to be booked in advance.  Exceptions can be made at end of life.

The home or service manager will be your first point of contact if you have a question about the care of your relative or you wish to book a visit. We understand that you may be unable to visit during this period, so we will continue to ensure that residents have access to devices to enable video and telephone calls if desired.

We will continue to follow government guidance for visits and if anything changes we will update you. This is a dynamic situation so please bear with us.
