The Buckinghamshire College Group Student Awards ceremony was a momentous occasion, which took place on 29 June, 2023, at the picturesque Missenden Abbey. Over 100 guests attended, including students and their proud parents, dedicated tutors, esteemed governors and Buckinghamshire College Group’s senior management team.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of 24 awards, each recognising the outstanding achievements and contributions of the students. Among these prestigious accolades was the esteemed Employer Partner of the Year award, which was given to The Fremantle Trust.
The award highlighted the positive impact strong partnerships between educational institutions and employers have on shaping the futures of young talents and fostering a supportive and nurturing learning environment.
Lucy Milton, Head of Business Development and Sales at Bucks College Group, nominated The Fremantle Trust for the Employer Partner of the Year award. In her speech, she commended the Trust’s exceptional commitment to fostering partnerships with educational institutions, stakeholders and communities in health and social care.
Their collaboration began with the “Care to Make a Difference” programme, facilitating work placements, offering ideas for curriculum development and providing support to students and staff alike. This fruitful relationship has resulted in students securing full-time, part-time and voluntary roles with The Fremantle Trust.
The Fremantle Trust also actively engages with the college on workforce needs, apprenticeships, and curriculum co-design and co-delivery. Their passion for investing in students and preparing them for the health and social care sector makes them a valued and dedicated partner.
Sue Ascott, who collected the award on behalf of The Fremantle Trust, praised Lucy Milton and her colleagues “for their great efforts in bringing careers information and guidance to a whole range of your students. This is something that we are passionate about at The Fremantle Trust, and we see clear benefits in playing our part in preparing your students for their journey into the world of work.”
