Lewin House Care Home in Aylesbury extended a warm welcome to the local community on Saturday, 29th July, for a heartwarming jumble sale fundraiser. The event aimed to raise funds for a much-desired sensory room at Lewin House, offering an enjoyable space for the residents.

The success of the jumble sale was made possible by the overwhelming support from family, friends, and staff who generously donated hundreds of items, including bric-a-brac, clothing, pottery and garden goods. The vibrant atmosphere was a testament to the unity of the community, rallying together for a worthy cause.

Residents and staff proudly manned the colourful stalls, featuring exciting activities such as a tombola and a delightful refreshment café. Over 70 visitors from the local area attended, showing their solidarity and contributing to the event’s resounding success.

The community’s generosity and the residents’ enthusiasm brought smiles and joy to all. In the end, their collective efforts culminated in a staggering amount of over £450 raised for the sensory room, making it a step closer to becoming a reality.

Activity Organiser Natalie said, “It was great fun, the donations just kept coming, and on the day more and more people arrived. The residents absolutely loved it, especially sorting through all the donations.”

This heartwarming event showcased the power of compassion and collaboration, paving the way for further meaningful initiatives that uplift the lives of those at Lewin House.
