On Saturday, May 11 the residents at Sir Aubrey Ward Marlow were joined by family members for a Family Garden renovation project. The project was in preparation for ‘Fremantle in Bloom’, our annual gardening competition for enthusiastic gardeners from all Fremantle Trust homes.
Eager to make a special display, residents and families worked side by side weeding and planting seeds. While others sanded and painted wooden benches and trimmed overgrown trees.
After a productive morning, everyone enjoyed a delightful buffet of sausage rolls, sandwiches, fruit, and doughnuts. The outcome was a beautifully renovated garden, earning high praise from the residents.
“It looks marvellous” – Janet, Sir Aubrey Ward House resident.
Gardening offers residents gentle exercise and social interaction, enriching their lives with a sense of accomplishment and community.
“We worked so hard on that today” – Josephine, Sir Aubrey Ward House resident.
