En-suite rooms
Each fully furnished, brightly decorated room is modern, comfortable, and designed with an older person in mind. Our rooms provide ample space for any additional nursing equipment which may be needed from time to time, and are completed with a state-of-the-art profiling bed. All rooms are en-suite and wheelchair accessible. Every room also has a 24-hour carer call system, a phone and TV points. Residents are encouraged to bring their own furnishings from home, to add that 'personal touch' to their room.
Spacious communal areas
Lewin House care home has attractive and inviting communal rooms located on each wing that provide plenty of space to socialise with friends and family. This includes two large lounges, a bar, quiet area and treatment room for when you need a little bit of pampering. The garden lounge is a wonderful community space to relax and enjoy the ever-changing and seasonal wonders of the outdoor area. To suit every individual, stairs and a lift provide easy access to all floors.
Fresh food daily
Food is an enjoyable part of life and is freshly cooked on-site at our care home, using local produce when possible. We offer a wide choice of meals and welcome suggestions from residents when menu planning to ensure we cater to everyone’s tastes and dietary needs. For a minimal charge, visitors are welcome to join us at mealtimes or they can use the kitchenettes as they would at home.
Flower garden and raised beds
Green space, fresh air and social stimulation can truly enhance a person’s wellbeing. Our extensive and beautifully landscaped garden is a hive of activity, particularly in the warm summer months. The attractive courtyard garden is a wonderful feature and is an ideal place for a spot of light gardening or enjoying a relaxing cup of tea.
Access to specialist services
We are dedicated to delivering 24-hour high-quality specialist nursing care for older people, including dementia nursing care. As well as providing a personal key worker and regularly reviewed support plan for each individual, we provide both personal and clinical care for those with complex care needs. We are supported by other local healthcare professionals, including opticians, chiropodists, physiotherapists, district nurses, GPs and dieticians. We also hold religious services regularly at our care home.
Pet friendly
As a nation of pet-lovers, we know that caring for an animal can be both rewarding and beneficial for an older person. Pets are welcome to visit, and we will do everything we can to support residents so they can continue to care for their pets and enjoy their company.
