As a specialist nursing care home, The Heights in High Wycombe has a variety of high-quality facilities to provide excellent services for older people and those living with dementia, in a safe and comfortable environment.
En-suite rooms
Each fully furnished and wheelchair-accessible room is bright, spacious, and has been designed with an older person in mind. Every room has an en-suite and provides a state-of-the-art profiling bed for ease and comfort. The room is also large enough to accommodate any specialist nursing care equipment so can easily be added to the room as and when it is needed. A 24-hour carer call system is provided, along with a phone and TV points. Our residents are encouraged to bring their own furnishings from home to their room to add that 'personal touch'.
Comfortable communal areas
Our welcoming communal areas create that ‘home from home’ feel and are the perfect places for people to get together and take part in the creative and stimulating activities we offer. We’ve made our communal areas as inclusive as possible by making all the floors easily accessible via stairs and a lift. Our enclosed landscaped garden offers an inviting setting for residents to do a spot of gardening or take in the fresh air.
Fresh food daily
Freshly cooked, delicious food is an important part of life at The Heights care home and we source local produce wherever possible. There is a wide choice of meals provided and we also encourage suggestions from residents when menu planning to ensure we cater to everyone’s tastes and palate. For a minimal charge, visitors are welcome to join us at mealtimes, or can use the kitchenettes as they would at home.
Landscaped garden and vegetable patch
Spending quality time with friends and family in our lovely garden area is just what the doctor ordered. The outdoor space includes a wonderful vegetable patch for those who enjoy taking on some light gardening, such as weeding and planting – or, residents can simply sit back, relax and watch things grow. Our beautiful landscaped garden and inviting patio areas house plenty of outdoor seating and are an ideal place for individuals to make the most of the warm summer months.
Access to specialist services
We are committed to delivering 24-hour quality nursing care for older people. We tailor a personalised support plan for every individual (including personal care where needed), which is reviewed regularly to ensure that we continue to meet a person’s changing care needs. To further enhance the excellent care and support we provide, we work closely with other local healthcare professionals, including opticians, chiropodists, physiotherapists, district nurses, GPs and dieticians. We also hold religious services at the home.
Pet friendly
We know that caring for a pet can be both rewarding and beneficial for an older person, which is why a man’s best friend is always welcome to our care home. All types of pets are allowed to come to visit, and we do everything we can to support residents so they can continue to enjoy the company of their furry companions.
Hairdressing
With an on-site hairdressing salon run by trained hairdressers, we offer a range of styling options for both men and women. So, all of our residents can enjoy getting their hair done – one of life’s little treats.
